When it comes to music, it’s all about creativity and passion. More and more women have risen to improve the music scene’s diversity. There couldn’t have been a better time to join the music industry as a female creator, where women are increasingly paving the way both from the front and behind the scenes.
The once male-dominated industry has seen its worst days but has improved a lot lately, as seeing women be themselves and accomplish incredible feats encourages more talent and empowerment. I’ll take you on a ride to see what a female rapper is like behind the scenes.
I’d say most of my time is spent trying to attain happiness in what I do and finding enough time for my personal life. As a female musician, one of the main obstacles will be finding the right source of creativity and learning how to weave it with my experience into life. Yes, the gender ratio is always an issue, as you are expected to be more productive than your male counterparts. My favorite part of my work would also be seen as the most significant challenge: creating the right music from the soul that passes the correct information to my audience.
Another thing I spend my time doing behind the scenes is trying to cope with my personal life and its daily obstacles and constantly trying not to mix my personal life with work. Although my creativity comes from my passion for what I do, finding my note isn’t much of a problem. Also, with the emergence of social media and music streaming, sharing my passion and creativity has been made easier. It comes as no surprise that technology has changed the game. As I could create sounds of melody within spaces, I am most comfortable in. I would also like to highlight my fans who have given me enormous support throughout my music career; you are all loved.
In my opinion, I believe that creators should promote the culture of equal opportunity in this industry with full support. So more female rappers, both upcoming and veterans, can never have to feel the need to work as twice as their male counterparts to prove their creativity and talent in the industry. Currently, I love how much the industry has grown and is growing. I love all the new sounds and courageous female skills keeping hope up for the female rap community. I’m happy to see the female rappers’ representation and accomplishments. One of the unacceptable truths is that times have changed, and the rise of female rappers has never been better.
My advice to you would be to always believe in yourself and always put in your best efforts in anything you do, and results are expected.
